Customer Good morning. I collected a booking reference last month for a vehicle to be collected tomorrow. Agent Good morning Mr Ellis. The reservation shows a medium estate car for seven days. The comprehensive policy has already been added at the quoted rate. Customer Could you confirm what damage has been covered? I had an accident two years ago and the excess then seemed rather high. Agent Collision damage and fire are covered from the moment the vehicle leaves one of our depots. An excess of two hundred and seventy-five pounds would apply unless the damage had been caused by another driver whose details had been recorded. Customer Has theft been included? The car will be parked overnight in several towns. Agent Theft cover operates if the keys have been removed and the police have been informed within forty-eight hours. Personal effects up to one hundred and fifty pounds are also protected provided receipts can be produced. Customer What about the windscreen? In the past some policies have required a separate payment. Agent Windscreen replacement has been included at no extra cost. The whole policy is void, however, if the car is driven off the public highway at any time. Customer We had planned to cross to France for three days. Would the same protection apply there? Agent Standard cover applies only within the United Kingdom. If continental driving is declared before collection an additional premium of forty pounds is charged and a green card issued. Customer Has breakdown assistance been arranged? The vehicle might need recovery after a puncture. Agent Roadside assistance and recovery have been provided by a third party. If the car is damaged by misuse the call-out charge will be passed to you. Customer Thank you. I shall check the terms again before signing.
