Renter Good afternoon. I have come to view the flat on the second floor.
Landlord Hello. I have shown it to several people already. They have asked about the bills too.
Renter The kitchen looks bright. Were you cleaning the windows when I arrived?
Landlord Yes, I was polishing them when you rang the bell. The flat has been empty since March.
Renter If the heating works well, I will take it. What are the monthly bills like?
Landlord Electricity has averaged one hundred and ten pounds. Gas has come to seventy pounds.
Renter Have you included water and council tax?
Landlord Water stands at thirty pounds. Council tax reaches one hundred and forty pounds each month.
Renter That seems high. The bills come to three hundred and fifty pounds a month, then.
Landlord Broadband costs twenty-five pounds extra if you want it. The neighbours have complained about noise before.
Renter I was hoping for a quiet place. Have any repairs been done recently?
Landlord The plumber fixed the shower last week. If you rent it, I will replace the old carpet.
Renter The living room feels spacious. Does the rent cover any of these bills?
Landlord No, the rent is eight hundred and fifty pounds alone. You will pay the bills yourself.
Renter I need to think it over. If everything checks out, I will call you tomorrow.
