Tenant Hello Mr Ellis. I am calling about a leak in the flat. I was having a shower yesterday evening when water started dripping from the ceiling. Landlord Hello Mrs Khan. Have you told the neighbour upstairs yet? Tenant Yes I have done that already. The water has been coming through slowly since then. If it gets worse we will need to act quickly. Landlord I see. I was planning to visit another property this week but I can come round on Friday instead. Does ten o'clock suit you? Tenant Friday at ten works for me. I have already phoned twice before about small repairs. This time the problem looks bigger. Landlord I understand. I will bring the right tools and sort it out properly. Have you noticed any damage to the floorboards? Tenant Not yet but the carpet feels damp near the door. If the carpet stains we should discuss replacement costs. Landlord Fair enough. I will check the pipes first and then decide on the next steps. See you on Friday morning. Tenant Thank you. I will leave the key with the neighbour if I am out. Landlord That is helpful. Call me again if anything changes before then.
