IELTS – Exam 1 – Speaking（IELTS 口语（Exam 1））

## Part 1

In this first part of the test, you will be asked general questions about yourself on a range of familiar topics.

It will typically last 4-5 minutes.

Shopping

Let’s talk about shopping.

• What kind of shops do you prefer and why?
• Do you enjoy shopping online? Why or why not?
• Can you describe your best shopping experience?
• Is there anything you dislike about shopping?

Home

Let’s talk about where you live.

• Can you describe the place where you live?
• What do you like most about your home?
• Are there any amenities you wish were available in your neighbourhood?
• What changes would you like to make to your home?

Transport

Let’s talk about how you move around.

• How do you usually get to work or school?
• What do you think of the public transportation in your city?
• Have you experienced any problems with transport in your area?
• Do you prefer driving or using public transport? Why?

## Part 2

In this second part of the test, you will be given a task card and asked to talk about a particular topic.

You get one minute to prepare; you can make notes during this time. Then, you need to talk about the topic for 1-2 minutes.

Teacher

Describe a teacher who has influenced you in your education.
You should say:

• Where you met him/her
• What subject he/she taught
• What was special about him/her

And explain why this person influenced you so much.

## Part 3

In this third part of the test, you will be asked further questions about the topic in Part 2. These will give you the opportunity to discuss more abstract ideas and issues.

It will typically last 4-5 minutes.

Developments in education

• Has education in your country changed in the last 10 years?
• What changes do you think will happen in the future?
• What changes would you recommend to improve the education system?

Technology in education

• Should the use of AI be taught and encouraged in schools?
• How important is it for students to learn digital skills in today’s education systems?
• What are the advantages and disadvantages of online learning compared to traditional classroom learning?
